Description
Phosphorus-based matches. The material coating the head of a match is typically made from paraffin and combustible chemicals, including phosphorous trisulphide, which burns at low temperatures. Phosphorus trisulphide contains the chemical elements phosphorus (P) and sulphur (S). Early matches contained white phosphorus.
