Modern reconstruction of Coronelli's celestial globe made for Louis XIV. Vincenzo Coronelli, 1650 - 1718, was a Franciscan friar, cosmographer, cartographer, publisher and encyclopedist known in particular for his atlese and globes. He spent most of his life in Venice. The image shows the constellations of Cancer, Gemini and Auriga.
