Description
MODEL RELEASED. Anatomical drawing school. Student using a model backbone to learn the art of drawing anatomically correct pictures. The use and study of accurate and detailed anatomical drawings is an important part of medical training. An artwork can emphasise general anatomical features that are not clearly seen when dissecting a cadaver (dead body) or carrying out an operation. A long tradition of modern anatomical illustration dates back to 1543 when Vesalius published De Humani Corporis Fabrica based on his work in Italy. Photographed at the Rizzoli Institute, Bologna, Italy.
