Description
Young woman (background) undergoing an electroencephalogram (EEG) examination. The EEG test is performed to record the electrical activity of the brain. Small electrodes are attached to the scalp and then connected to an instrument which measures the brain's impulses in microvolts and records them on a printout. In the foreground a technician is at the console of an eight channel portable EEG instrument with the printout appearing at right. EEG is a painless technique with no side effects and is performed for about forty-five minutes.
