WWII bombing of Japan. US bomber planes in flight, dropping explosives on the Japanese city of Hokadate in July 1945, during the Second World War (1939-1945). These bombers are TBMs (torpedo bombers) and SB2Cs (Curtiss Helldiver bombers) from the aircraft carrier the USS Essex.
