Description
Telepathy experiment. Woman undergoing a ganzfeld experiment to test for telepathy, a form of psi or extrasensory perception (ESP). ESP is perception that does not involve the main senses, and telepa- thy is the ESP of other people's thoughts. In this experiment, red light is shone through ping-pong balls on the eyes of a receiver while white noise is played through headphones. This sensory depriv- ation results in hallucinations. Several senders then try to 'transmit' randomly chosen visual stimuli, which the receiver attempts to describe. Finally the receiver has to select by sight the target stimuli from a selection of stimuli. The experiment was designed by Charles Honorton.
