Description
White-backed vultures on a bare tree. White-backed vultures (Gyps africanus) are a medium-sized vulture. Like other vultures they are scavengers, feeding mostly from carcasses of animals, which they find by circling high above the ground. White-backed vultures breed in trees on the savannah of west and east Africa, laying one egg. Photographed in Kenya, in September.
