Description
Climbing and construction robot. Titan VII, a prototype robot that could be used for construction on steep slopes. This quadruped robot is walking up a 30 degree slope. It can climb up slopes of up to 70 degrees, although those of over 15 degrees require the use of wires, as seen here. Titan VII was designed to provide a mobile platform during the construction of roads and railways in the mountains of Japan. It was developed by Hideyuki Tsukagoshi at the Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan. Photographed in 1999.
