MODEL RELEASED. Satellite testing. Technician in a facility for testing satellite communications equipment. The walls and floors of this anechoic chamber are covered in specially-shaped spikes. These disperse and absorb electromagnetic waves so that there are no reflected signals which might cause interference during tests. The facility is used for the testing and qualification of large, lightweight and multi-beam spacecraft antennae, payloads and fully equipped satellites. Photographed in Germany.
