Artist's Description
Terracotta warrior remains. These broken remains are parts of lifesize figures of warriors and cavalry dating from the 2nd century BC. They were buried with the Emperor of Qin, the first emperor of China between 210-209 BC. It is thought they were buried with the emperor in the belief that they would help him reign in the afterlife. These broken parts will be restored to complete figures. The site is a World Heritage Site. Photographed near Xian, China.
