Spruce grouse (Chanachites canadensis) in a boreal forest in the Interior Alaska, USA. Spruce Grouse are mainly found in habitats throughout North America including Alaska and Canada where there is forests of spruce, pine or fir trees. They are usually solitary in the summer months, but in winter they may be seen in loose flocks tending to forage in trees to feed.
