Computer simulation of particle tracks fom a collision between an electron and a positron in the Stanford Linear Collider (SLC) experiment. The SLC was designed to produce Z-naught particles from the collision at extremely high energies. The Z-naught particle is one of the mediators of the weak nuclear force, the force behind radioactive decay, and was first discovered at CERN, Geneva, in 1983. The Z-naught is released just before the electron and positron collide and anihilate each other. The free Z-naught then decays to form another electron/positron pair or a quark/antiquark pair, the latter decaying further to produce detectable hadrons.
