MODEL RELEASED. Electricity pylon maintenance. Silhouetted technicians working on the maintenance of a power line. The cable carrying the electricity (not seen) is suspended from a large insulator (column at lower left) on an arm of a pylon (upper centre). Pylons hold cables which carry electricity from power stations to sub-stations in cities and towns. The equipment must be in a good condition or efficiency may be lost. Power lines require constant servicing to keep them working correctly. The insulators prevent any electricity flowing through the metal pylon, which would be dangerous.
