Artist's Description

Shotgun powder advert for Du Pont smokeless shotgun powder (a form of gunpowder). The artwork shows a brood of quail nesting in tall grass. The Du Pont logo at upper left refers to the E. I. Dupont de Nemours Powder Company of Wilmington, Delaware, USA. Founded in 1802, this is now one of the largest chemical companies in the world. This chromolithograph was by the artist Lynn Bogue Hunt. It was published circa 1913 in New York by the Sackett and Wilhelms Company.
