Artist's Description
MODEL RELEASED. Shaving. Man shaving the stubble on his cheek using a wet razor and shaving foam. Shaving is a common method of hair removal (depilation) undertaken by most men on a daily basis. However it has a number of side effects including skin irritation (razor burn) and cuts. The risk of these can be minimised by using preparations such as shaving foam (as shown here) which softens hairs and lubricates the skin, and by rinsing the blade after each stroke to ensure that it is clear of any clogging. Aftershave lotions, which often contain alcohol for its antiseptic property, can be used after shaving to moisturise the skin.
