Description
Seasons on Uranus, illustration. The axis of rotation of the planet Uranus is tilted 98 degrees from the 'upright' compared to other planets in the solar system. This means that its poles experience extreme seasonal changes, as shown here. Summer at one pole (left) becomes winter half a Uranian year later (right). A year on Uranus lasts 84 Earth years. Uranus orbits at an average distance from the Sun (centre) of around 3 billion kilometres.
