Description
Salt crystals. Cubic crystals of salt (sodium chloride) grown by recrystallisation from a solution of salt dissolved in water. The process takes about a week. The largest crystal shown measures approximately four millimetres square. Rock salt, commonly known as halite, develops in a similar way and occurs naturally in a variety of colours.
