Description
Wearable computing. Researchers Bradley Rhodes (left) and Thad Starner wear Private Eye display systems. The boxes by their eyes can relay visual information using a liquid crystal display. Data is entered through a hand-held Twiddler (lower centre and right) which combines the functions of a keyboard and computer mouse. Voice and face- recognition systems can also provide data input into the Private Eye. The lightweight computer and power supply are worn on the body. Such wearable computers" can constantly provide information to the wearer and may soon be used in a variety of applications. Starner and Rhodes are researchers at the Media Lab at MIT, USA."
