Artist's Description
Particle tracks from a proton-antiproton collision seen by the CDF (collider detector at Fermilab) detector at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab), Batavia, Illinois, USA. Prior to the collision the particles had been accelerated by the Tevatron accelerator. The collision produced a bottom omega baryon (orange line), which decays into an omega baryon (blue line) and a J/psi meson. The J/psi meson is not seen, but is revealed by its decay products, a pair of muons (purple lines). The omega baryon decays in a kaon (lower green line) and a lambda baryon (dotted black line), which then decays into a proton (red line) and a pion (upper green line).
