Pool of liquid mercury on a hard surface. Mercury has a very low melting point of minus 38.83 degrees Celsius. As such it is the only metal that is liquid at standard room temperature and pressure. It has an extremely high surface tension and will form droplets that appear to roll around on hard surfaces. Mercury is also highly toxic.
