Description
Oxyacetylene flame (blue) from an oxyacetylene torch or burner. This torch burns a mixture of oxygen and acetylene (ethyne, C2H2). This allows a flame temperature of about 3300 degrees Celsius to be attained, with blue being towards the hotter end of the temperature range. A common use for the tool is the cutting and welding of steel.
