Artist's Description

Artwork of squid-like Orthoceratites attempting to make meals of trilobites of the species Asaphus kowalewskii at the bottom of an Ordovician sea 480 million years ago. Also featured is a sea star (or starfish), an echinoderm of the class Asteroidea, palm-like Crinoids (or sea lilies), Rugosa (or Tetracoralla), Favistina stellata coral, and Vauxia sponges.
