Description
mRNA leaving the nucleus, artwork. mRNA (messenger ribonucleic acid, orange) is the intermediary molecule between DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) and its protein product. It is produced in the nucleus (blue) by the process of transcription and exits the nucleus through the nuclear pores (purple). In the cytoplasm it is translated into the protein product by ribosomes.
