Description
Virtual wind tunnel. Composite image of a man immersed in the computer-generated wind tunnel image that he can see using a virtual reality headset. A space shuttle-like craft is in the tunnel; the blue lines around it represent the air flow over its surface. The man is wearing a virtual reality glove which can be used to place tracer particles within the air flow. The BOOM (Binocular Omni-Orientation Monitor) headset, made by Fake Space, gives the user a wide field of view and freedom of movement. This virtual image was generated by a Silicon Graphics workstation computer at the Ames Research Centre, California, USA.
