Magnetic atlas of northern hemisphere. 18th-century magnetic map of the northern hemisphere. Published in 1790, this map (also called a 'variation chart') was produced by US surveyor John Churchman (1753-1805). The dedication (bottom left) is to George Washington, the President of the United States of America.
