Maglev railcar on a section of elevated track which runs 1 mile between British Rail's International Station and the nearby Birmingham Airport. The railcar runs on the principle of magnetic levitation, ie utilising a linear motor. Effectively, it floats on a magnetic field, carried in the central 3rd rail. The railcar is seen approaching one of the terminus builings.
