Liver cells. Coloured electron micrograph (TEM) of two liver cells (hepatocytes). Organelles within the cells include: the nucleus (large yellow ovoid, lower right), rough endoplasmic reticulum (fuzzy green lines at bottom centre), smooth endoplasmic reticulum (green lines at let of nucleus), Golgi apparatus (green lines at upper left), mitochondria (orange), fat droplets (pale pink), glycogen (red) and lysosomes (dark pink). The plasma membranes are dark blue.
