Description
Limestone cliffs at a coast. Limestone is a sedimentary rock formed from the calcareous shells of marine organisms, which are compressed into rock by pressure from above layers. This limestone was formed during the Jurassic period, which lasted from 200 to 146 million years ago. It has been heavily eroded by the action of the sea. Photographed at Cabo Carvoeiro, Portugal.
