Lily flower. Close-up of a lily flower (family Liliaceae) showing the reproductive parts. The dark red anthers are the top part of the stamens, the male structures. These surround the stigma (three-lobed, centre) which tops the stalk of the style (not seen), a part of the female structure. Anthers produce pollen (male sex cells) which is spread on the wind or by insects to pollinate other flowers.
