Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) cells, Scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of blood from a patient with ALL. ALL is a rare cancer where excess white blood cell precursors called lymphoblasts form in the bone marrow (smaller hairy cells). It affects children and adults, and is the most common form of leukaemia in children. Treatment is with chemotherapy to rid the bone marrow of all cancerous cells. Magnification: x4, 000 when printed at 10 centimetres wide.
