Description
This specialized trailer is filled by combines on the lavandin fields and then brought back to the processing factory where it is dismounted from the wheels. Steam is pumped through it to detach oil molecules from the seed pods and partly mulched vegetation. This is a modern version of the alembic distillation process. Lavandin is a lavender hybrid used for commercial perfumes. The yield is 1 litre per 50 to 250 kilos of cuttings, but Lavandin can produce up to 7 time greater yield than lavender. It will be added to many products as an essential oil perfume. Products such as cosmetics, washing powder, candles, soap, and various cleaners. Photographed in Provence, France.
