A beautiful pcs of painting. I believe your Description is wrong:Buddha was born as Prince Siddhattha in 623BC. Lao-Tse was a philosopher of ancient China and the oldest among the 3. Confucius was born 550BC , thus older then Prince Siddhattha. Many Buddha's teaching are similar to Confucius. So the artist is telling us, Lao-Tse and Confucius are China Philosophers, but their believes are not alike. Buddha teaching reflected Confucius although they never meet during their lifetime.
