Product Details

Our greeting cards are 5" x 7" in size and are produced on digital offset printers using 100 lb. paper stock. Each card is coated with a UV protectant on the outside surface which produces a semi-gloss finish. The inside of each card has a matte white finish and can be customized with your own message up to 500 characters in length. Each card comes with a white envelope for mailing or gift giving.

Artist's Description

James Edward Smith (1759-1828), British botanist and founder of the Linnean Society. Smith studied medicine at Edinburgh before moving to London in 1783. In 1786, Smith was elected a fellow of the Royal Society. For the next two years Smith travelled on the Grand Tour of Europe. On his return in 1788 he began writing up his researches and published numerous articles and books in the following 30 years. He was knighted in 1814. Artwork from 'Illustrations of the Literary History of the Eighteenth Century', an 8-volume work published between 1817 and 1858 by English printer and antiquarian John Nichols and his son John Bowyer Nichols.
