Artist's Description
Israeli missile base. Satellite image of the Israeli Airforce's Sedot Micha missile base, 45 kilometres south of Tel Aviv. Sedot Micha is at bottom left, above it (centre to centre left) is thought to be a Jericho intermediate range missile base (IRBM). Three squadrons equipped with Jericho nuclear-tipped missiles are reportedly kept here. Munitions shelters are thought to have been carved out of the limestone hills to house these weapons of mass destruction that have a range of at least 1,500 kilometres. Ikonos satellite image taken on 04 January 2002.
