Artist's Description

Intraductal papilloma, light micrograph of a section of breast near the nipple. Intraductal papillomas are benign growths (not cancer) inside the ducts of the breast often near the nipple and generally do not increase the risk of developing breast cancer. They are most common in women over 40 and usually develop as the breast ages and changes. Note this papilloma almost completely fills the lumen of the expanded duct. Magnification: x 100 when printed at 10 centimetres wide. Human tissue.
