Description
A dermatome is an area of skin supplied by a single spinal nerve. A brachial plexus injury (Erb's palsy) is an injury to one or all of the nerves that control muscles in the shoulder, arm, or hand, that results in paralysis of the affected area. This condition is most often caused when an infant's neck is stretched to the side during a difficult delivery.
