Psychic face. Impression of a face made in a tray of putty by a psychic who was prevented from touching it. It was claimed that the face was made by telekinesis, the ability to exert a physical force by mental concentration alone. It was claimed that this was an impression of the face of Italian psychic, Eusapia Palladino (1854-1918), and that she had made it during a seance in 1897. During the seance Palladino had her hands held and her actual face placed against the shoulder of astronomer C. Flammarion, who was conducting a scientific investigation into psychic phenomena.
