Iberian Peninsula, satellite image. North is at top. Thunderstorms are visible over the Iberian Peninsula and part of North Africa (lower right). A plume of Saharan dust is drifting over the Mediterranean Sea off Algeria. Fog and low cloud are enveloping north-western coastal areas of Spain and Portugal. Image data obtained on 25 July 2012, with the MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) sensor on one of NASA's Earth Observing System satellites (Terra and Aqua).
