Artist's Description
Blood vessels of the human heart and lungs, plastic corrosion cast. The entire vascular space of the heart and lungs has been filled with a plastic polymer which rapidly polymerises and hardens. The tissue is then corroded away by immersion in a strongly alkaline solution. The organic material dissolves away, leaving a plastic cast of every artery, vein and capillary.
