Human anatomy as shown in Pearls of wisdom written by Reisch in 1508. The 15th and 16th centuries saw a rebirth or a renaissance in medicine as in the arts and other branches of medicine. The main contributors in the study of human anatomy were the Italian artist and inventor Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) and the Flemish anatomist Andreas Vesalius (1514-1564).
