Description
Hot Can self-heating food. The tinned food, here baked beans and sausage, sits inside an outer steel can. Between the two walls is pelletised sodium hydroxide and a polythene bag of water. A pin is inserted into a hole (left rim of the opened can), this punctures the bag and allows the water to mix with the hydroxide. As it does so, tremendous amounts of heat are generated which heat the food inside the inner container. This kind of product is especially useful in survival situations where it may not be possible to build and light a fire.
