A VEGA test, known also as a vegetative reflex test, measures the concentration of certain compounds within the body. Racks of small tubes (lower left) contain homeopathic preparations of naturally occurring bodily substances. The homeopath takes electronic readings from these tubes and compares this with a reading from acupuncture points on the patient's foot. A reading indicating an excess of any compound in the body is used to indicate the nature of the patient's ailment. A homeopathic remedy may then be prescribed.
