Description
Early camera. Bellows-type camera from about 1885 with a collection of historical photographic paper and old family portraits. To take a picture, an tiny opening (aperture) is opened in the otherwise lightproof casing of the camera. Light passes through the aperture and casts an image on a piece of photographic film. Most cameras also have a lens in the aperture to sharpen the image. Light falling on the film induces chemical changes in it. The film is then chemically processed (devloped) to create an image.
