Description
Harrison Glacier, Montana, USA in 1913. Image 1 of 2. Harrison Glacier is the largest glacier within Glacier National Park. Glaciers are large, slow-moving expanses of ice, formed from compacted layers of snow. They are sensitive to climate change and in recent years most have retreated dramatically. See image C014/5134 for an image of the same glacier as seen in 2008.
