Artist's Description
Glacial ice cliff, aerial view. The sea in front of the glacier is filled with chunks of ice known as bergy bits. Glaciers that arrive at the coast tend to become less stable, as they float on the water. Cracks and fractures weaken the glacier, and many chunks of ice fall off into the sea. Larger chunks may form icebergs. This is one of the main methods of iceberg formation. Photographed at Perito Moreno Glacier, Argentina.
