Description
Gallbladder cholesterolosis. Light micrograph of a section through a gallbladder affected by cholesterolosis. Gallbladder cholesterolosis is a condition that causes a change in the gallbladder wall due to an excess of cholesterol. It results from abnormal deposits of cholesterol esters in macrophage white blood cells within the lamina propria and mucosal epithelium of the gallbladder.
