Fullerene printer. Conceptual illustration showing a sci-fi device able to simultaneously print buckyballs, nanotubes and graphene sheets. Fullerenes have their carbon atoms arranged in a spherical, cylindrical or planar structure and are named after Richard Buckminster Fuller, a twentieth century American designer who pioneered the use of the geodesic dome in architecture.
