Description
Face of technology. Abstract image of a child's face on which optical fibres are superimposed. The optical fibres are conducting light of different colours. Information technology is the processing and transmitting of information (data, graphics, text, sound) through computing and telecommunications. This digital information may be transmitted across the world at the speed of light down optical fibre cables. Bundles of optical fibres may be used to carry images along the information superhighway, or high volumes of data such as telephone conversations.
