Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. Elodea canadensis (Canadian Waterweed) leaf cells with chloroplasts in red auto fluorescence under blue excitation light. The chlorophyll is located in thylakoids, membrane-bound compartments inside chloroplasts. Chloroplast thylakoids frequently form stacks of disks referred to as grana, here visible as granular structure with red dots. Microscopic contrast technique : Incident flourescence with blue excitation. Magnification: 980x when printed 10 centimetres wide.
