Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) image of Earth and its Moon. This is a composite of the best Earth image and best Moon image taken by the MRO's High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRise) camera on 20th November 2016. The correct sizes and relative positions of the Earth and Moon have been retained, but the Moon's relative brightness has been increased to make it visible. Vegetation on Earth appears red. Australia is at the centre of the Earth, with Southeast Asia at top and Antarctica (bright white) at lower left. The images were taken at a distance of around 205 million kilometers from Earth.
